Approval to connect a solar PV system 3kW to 30kW

If you are planning to install a solar PV system bigger than 3kW but less than or equal to 30kW, your system cannot be installed without being assessed and approved by Western Power.

Please follow the below process to apply

  1. Ensure your solar PV system is on the Western Power authorised PV system list, see below to view
  2. Submit an application form, see below to download a form (Note: applications are normally submitted on your behalf by your supplier/installer)
  3. Submit the completed form to Western Power and retain a copy. Send completed forms to either 

What happens next?

Your application will be assessed by Western Power to ensure the system meets Western Power’s technical requirements.

Western Power will notify the applicant in writing if approval is granted.  Upon receipt of approval, you may proceed with the installation of your system.

If the application fails to meet all technical requirements, further correspondence may be required between the applicant and/or supplier and Western Power.  Western Power will advise the applicant in writing if this is necessary.
