Disconnections

There are two types of disconnection – temporary and demolition.

Temporary disconnection

It is sometimes necessary to temporarily disconnect your power supply to complete renovations and maintenance work.

A standard temporary disconnection service involves the isolation of your premises from the network by a network crew trained and equipped to undertake both overhead and underground disconnections and re-connections.  This service is undertaken during business hours on standard supply cables and metering.

A standard underground disconnection may also be performed by an electrician holding a current contractor connect changeover certification.

Should your connection be large or complex you may need to have your request assessed and the service quoted.

How to apply

Your electrician, builder or contractor usually applies for this service on your behalf so please check with them before applying.

For a standard temporary disconnection complete the online network services form.

For a temporary disconnection outside working hours (to save disruption to your business) or involving CT metering or line isolation complete an isolation of services form (PDF 26kb).
