Reporting and assurance
In reporting information on this website, in our annual report and other publications our aim is to provide insight into our broader business performance and aspirations, highlighting Western Power’s commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions for our customers and the community.
We aim to report on a broad range of business issues complementary to those defined in the Statement of Corporate Intent agreed annually with the Minister for Energy, consistent with Electricity Corporations Act 2005 (WA) and Electricity Industry Act 2004 (WA). The content of our reporting is influenced by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines version 3.0 and the Electricity Utility Sector Supplement.
We are maturing our sustainability reporting processes. Formal sustainability assurance has not been sought at this stage. Participation in the Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI), offered by Business in the Community UK, allows us to review and benchmark our sustainability performance.
In the 2011 CRI Western Power improved from the Bronze to Silver category in the Business in the Community UK rankings, in our fourth year of participation. The percentage change was from 73% to 82%. This was our 2011 Feedback Report (PDF 1.9mb).
