Western Power working in Bridgetown
Release Date: 30 September 2008
Western Power will be carrying out important power improvement work near Bridgetown from October to March next year to improve power supplies for local residents.
The work will be carried out in the following locations; Hester, Boyup Brook, Mayanup, Chowerup and Scotts Brook.
Western Power spokesperson Marisa Chapman said one of the main powerlines in the area, the Bridgetown Boyup Brook feeder, would be receiving a major refurbishment.
“The work will involve replacing unserviceable poles, installing poles mid-bay to reduce the distance between poles and replacing cross-arms at the top of power poles where necessary.
“This work is expected to improve the reliability of the Bridgetown Boyup Brook feeder.
“Crews will start work in the second week of October and will be visiting property owners from Bridgetown to Boyup Brook and Chowerup to discuss where poles can be dropped and what access requirements to their property are required.
“This is to ensure the work has as minimal impact an to the local community as possible”
“The pole construction work will commence in November and continue until March 2009,” Ms Chapman said.
