Western Power has continued its support of important Midwest volunteer organisations with the presentation of survival suits to the Leeman Sea Rescue team.
Western Power presented the state-of-the-art, self-inflating suits to the Leeman Sea Search team last week. The suits can be worn around the deck without impeding crew while carrying out duties.
Western Power’s Geraldton spokesman Mr Chris Cox said Western Power was proud to be involved with the Leeman Sea Rescue.
“These brave volunteers give their own time to work every day of the year, making sure that boat users return safely to shore after voyaging to sea,” Mr Cox said.
Mr Cox said Western Power’s commitment to safety and community involvement made the partnership with the Leeman Sea Rescue a perfect fit.
“As a business Western Power places community involvement and safety as core values. To create a community partnership with a volunteer community organisation engaged in ensuring public safety is therefore something we are very enthusiastic about,” Mr Cox said.
“These jackets will help the crews to safely continue their extensive patrols that range from Jurien Bay to Dongara,” he added.
Mr Cox said that Western Power was involved in sponsoring a number of community organisations in the Mid West including the Royal Lifesaving Society and Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades.
“Western Power believes it is important to ensure community groups like the Leeman Sea Search continue to do their important work.
“Western Power staff live and work across the mid-west and we are glad to contribute to these vibrant communities.”
