Possum Power Program
Release Date: 17 October 2007
Western Power's Managing Director Doug Aberle, the Minister for Energy Fran Logan and Landcare Australia CEO Brian Scarsbrick today launched a new partnership between Western Power and Landcare Australia at St Joseph's Primary School in Busselton.
The three year, $495,000 commitment will increase possum survival rates in the South West region as part of the 'Possum Power' program as well as foster closer links with the community, landowners and stakeholders who may be affected by the construction and operation of our electricity network. This will be managed through the 'Community Chest' program which seeks to minimise Western Power's impact on the environment and local communities when carrying out its planned works program.
More information on this partnership can be found on the Minister for Energy's website.
