Final workshops before preferred line route chosen
Release Date: 01 November 2007
The final information sessions, before a preferred corridor is announced on Western Power's Kojonup to Albany 132,000 volt transmission line, were held over the past few days. The project will bring much needed power for the future development of the Great Southern.
Western Power and its consultants GHD were pleased with the turnout and the response from the community.
Western Power Stakeholder Relations Manager, Ms Rebecca Teede said that over 60 people attended the Redmond information session on Tuesday 30 October.
Other sessions held in Napier, Mt Barker and today in Kojonup will help provide Western Power with valuable local knowledge from the community.
"The community has shown a keen interest in this project, and we are grateful for their participation.
"Such community workshops provide useful information to Western Power to enable us to consider all factors when determining a line corridor
"Once the workshops have concluded, and after working collaboratively with the stakeholder advisory group, Western Power and GHD will collate all the information and return to the community with the outcomes and announce the final line corridor," Ms Teede said.
