Charity Link Winter and Christmas Appeal
Western Power Charity Link Winter Appeal
The Winter Appeal aims to provide West Australians in need each winter with warm blankets and sleeping bags.
Charity Link purchase polar fleece blankets and sleeping bags in bulk and distribute these free of charge via their member charities to financially disadvantaged West Australians. Charity Link volunteers generously donate their time and materials to make hand-knitted blankets and quilts for those in need.
Western Power Charity Link Christmas Appeal
The Christmas Appeal aims to ensure all West Australians can enjoy a complete Christmas meal and that there is a smile on every child’s face on Christmas morning.
This is achieved through the distribution of food hampers, food vouchers and toys to West Australians facing financial hardship or crisis.
We have proudly supported Charity Link since 2004 as principal sponsor for the Winter Appeal and Christmas Appeal. Each year, we provide $100,000 to Charity Link to fund the appeals.
Bibbulmun Track Foundation
We are a proud sponsor of the Bibbulmun Track Foundation.
This sponsorship includes maintenance of a 5 km section of the Bibbulmun Track near Collie. Each quarter, our employees and their families volunteer to spend a weekend maintaining the track. Basic tasks include pruning, removing rubbish and replacing missing trail markers.
This volunteering activity, which includes overnight camping, will ensure the Bibbulmun Track remains a quality walking trail of international standard.
Casual Dress Day and Charity Fundraising
Our employees participate in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year.
As a demonstration of our commitment to community investment, employees dress casual for work every Friday to support a charity organisation in WA. Charities are selected on a quarterly basis with all fundraising activities during that period going to the nominated charity.
By making a gold coin donation each week, our staff are helping to change lives, one Friday at a time.
